PREPARATION

  • 1 Take two bowls, place 2 x 9 g Raspberry jelly crystals in one bowl and 2 x 9 g Mango Passionfruit jelly crystals in the other. To both bowls add 12 g (1 tbsp) gelatine and 1 cup boiling water. Stir well until completely dissolved.
  • 2 To make a sour lite snake version: Stir citric acid into the jelly mixture of one of the bowls.
  • 3 Line 2 x 20 cm square baking pans or appropriately sized containers with baking paper. Pour jelly mixture into each pan and refrigerate for 1-2 hours or until set firm.
  • 4 Lift jelly slabs onto a clean chopping board and using a sharp knife cut into lengths, resembling snakes.

Hints

• Any Aeroplane Jelly Lite flavour will make delicious, light snakes and Aeroplane has 9 flavours to choose from.

• Sour Lite snakes can be as sour as you like. Increase or decrease citric acid to your taste. We would say 3 tsp is just right, 4 is tangy but moreish if you like sour.

• Store in an airtight container, in the fridge.

• * Australian standard measures 1 tbsp (20mL)
